Quest Weight Loss frequently asked questions
Do I have to exercise?
Your personalized program will include recommendations for activity, including cardio, flexibility, and strength training. How closely you follow these recommendations is up to you; however, patients who are physically active are more likely to achieve their health and weight goals. In addition to helping you manage your weight, regular exercise can help strengthen your cardiovascular system, build strong bones and muscles, help manage stress, reduce the risk of diabetes and other disease, and improve sleep quality — all important components of a healthy lifestyle.
Is there any cost for my consultation?
No, we offer a no-cost consultation to help you determine if our weight-loss program is a good fit for you. There is never any obligation.
What kind of food will I eat on your program?
We will provide you with a personalized nutrition plan consisting of lean proteins, healthy fats, and low-glycemic (non-starchy) fruits and vegetables — real foods that you can buy in a grocery store or eat at your favorite restaurants. You will also have the option to purchase our meal-replacement shakes and hunger-control snacks, but these foods are not required.
How quickly will I lose weight?
Everyone’s weight-loss journey is different, and individual results will vary. However, our average patient loses 5-10 pounds their first week on the program, and 15 pounds during their first month. Your individual rate of weight loss may depend on other factors that are influencing your health, such as hormonal imbalances. Interventions for addressing these types of underlying health issues will be included in your personalized plan.
Do I have to count calories?
No. Our goal is to keep our weight-loss program as simple as possible. We do the work for you in developing a personalized nutrition plan that includes healthy, low-calorie foods and exact serving recommendations, so there’s never any confusion or guesswork.
Do you offer specialized menus for specific dietary needs?
Yes. We can provide specialized menus that will work for almost anyone, including individuals with special medical requirements or food allergies. We can also provide meal plans for pediatric patients, nursing moms, vegetarians, or individuals with other specific dietary needs.
Can I eat out while on your program and still lose weight?
Yes. We will provide you with tips and recommendations for making healthy choices and remaining on your plan even when eating at restaurants. These are important skills that will help you maintain your weight and your health even after you have completed the program!
How will I keep my weight off once I reach my goal?
Our weight-loss program is based on sustainable lifestyle change. After you reach your goal weight, you may make some adjustments to your diet, but do not expect to return to your former way of eating. Our goal is to teach you nutrition and lifestyle habits that will allow you to maintain a healthy weight and continue improving your health for years to come. Our Maintenance for Life program can help you build on the skills you learn during your active weight-loss phase. We’ve developed our weight-loss program based on more than 14 years of experience to ensure that you learn the skills and gain the tools you need to create lasting change.
Can you help with hormone imbalances that are affecting my weight?
Yes. Our metabolic weight-loss plan is designed to address underlying health issues that make weight loss difficult. Imbalances in hormones such as cortisol, insulin, and leptin are common causes of weight gain or difficulty losing weight. Your initial evaluation will include a complete metabolic profile that will help us identify these issues and include appropriate interventions in your personalized plan.
I work or travel a lot. Will your program work for me?
Yes. Our program is designed to be easy to follow and to work with even the busiest schedules. Many of our patients have hectic lives, and even our clients who travel frequently or work long hours have been very successful. If you have concerns about your schedule, please mention them during your initial visit so that we can be sure your personalized plan takes these factors into consideration.
